next program

The core of the program “Paths of Life” are the life stories of  German Jewish composers Kurt Weill and Norbert Glanzberg, Josef Beer and Hermann Leopoldi.

Successful as they were, they had to escape from the Nazis, went to France and – in Weill’s and Leopoldi’s case – later to America and put their experiences of war and exile into their art.

The evening takes the audience on a journey through history and time , from the Europe of the 30ies and 40ies to the USA.

There is humor and tragedy, despair and hope, leaving behind and starting new again.

It is also an emotional journey that touches all aspects of our lives.

No other project of mine is so dear to my heart and includes music that is so beautiful yet so unknown!
