In the first part of the concert you hear about the tragic love story between the German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedericke Brion, the daughter of a minister., which took place in the 18th century.

The story is told solely with original Goethe texts, poems and songs , with music by Schubert, Massenet, Lehar, Gounod and others.

In the second part we meet the more emancipated woman of the 20th century portrayed with music by K.Weill, F. Hollaender, R.Stolz, and O. Strauss.

Conclusion: Emanzipation doesn’t protect you from a broken heart!
